Michael Orleans

Michael Orleans came from the Washington Financial Group and joined the Meltzer Group in 2005 and has been an integral part in the growth of their retirement, employee benefits and insurance divisions.

Michael has further advanced his education by obtaining the Certification in Long Term Care (CLTC) designation. Recently, Michael has earned the distinguished Chartered Lifetime Assistance Planner (ChLAP) designation. This special needs life planning designation allows Michael to help disabled children and adults be prepared for their financial and lifetime challenges.

The inspiration to help others stemmed from his own struggles in planning for his autistic daughter, Danielle. The complexities of future care, government benefits and financial needs that come with having to plan for a child with special needs are daunting. The implementation of the special needs plan guides and gives to comfort to families who need to plan.

Having a great sense of pride in serving the community, Michael currently serves on the board for the Meltzer Group Giving Fund; an employee funded non profit organization, dedicated to giving grants to need based organizations in the greater Washington DC area. Michael also serves on the board of Shared Horizons; a pooled special needs trust in the D.C. metro area. Shared Horizons provides trust and fiduciary services for people with disabilities.

Michael is a third generation Washingtonian and graduate from the University of Maryland. He resides in Bethesda, Maryland with his wife Linda and daughter Danielle.
